I work with companies, institutions, and mission-led organisations on pieces and projects that extend the language of the globes into new contexts.
Recent work includes a commission for The Chancery Rosewood, London, and a piece for the author of Small Earthquakes: A Journey Through Lost British History in South America, mapping the geography traced in the book. Other collaborators include private collectors and individuals commissioning pieces for occasions of significance. Each project begins with a conversation about what the work might mark, mean, or commemorate. From there, design develops in dialogue.
Contexts I am particularly interested in:
Design professionals; interior designers, architects, and brand consultants, looking to incorporate the history, geography, or story of a particular location or client into a project.
Corporate gifting, where a commissioned piece can recognise a significant moment, partnership, or milestone in a way that holds its meaning over years rather than weeks.
Foundations, charities, and institutions whose work has a geographical reach to it. A globe can hold the routes of a migration - human or animal, the arc of a historical connection, or the territory of a long-running mission, in a form that invites attention.
Editorial and cultural partnerships, where the work might accompany a book, an exhibition, or a story being told elsewhere.
I take on a small number of these projects each year. If you have something in mind, please get in touch at studio@randon.co.uk and we'll find a time to talk.
